JCP Supports Triton Knoll for Wind Farm Win

Highly effective partnership secures government contract, supporting the future of renewables

International alliancing expert, JCP Consultancy (JCP) is delighted to be supporting clients Innogy and Statkraft, who have been awarded a government Contract for Difference (CfD). The CfD is for the design, build, operation and maintenance of the wind farm project at Triton Knoll in Lincolnshire and demonstrates that an effective and collaborative approach can deliver lower-cost energy, and produce efficient winning bids.

The Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm, a joint venture between Innogy and Statkraft, is now confirmed as one of the UK’s best ‘low cost’ renewable energy projects; excellent news for both consumers and the renewables industry as it baulks the trend of accelerating costs in energy projects.

The lower costs have been enabled by the joint venture parties developing highly effective relationships and collaborating with each other and their supply chain on the price to design, build, operate and maintain the wind farm. JCP facilitated the assessment framework and helped the parties choose the right partner and build the winning collaborative enterprise.

JCP’s direct support to the winning bid focused on developing the team as skilled collaborators. “As a result of our work together, we developed an approach that allowed a win/win for them, their partners, and the UK as a whole with a much better price being struck than was expected,” said Simon Vaughan, JCP Director.

JCP’s approach begins by helping clients develop the best strategy for working together. Starting with the assessment of prospective partners, we help them adopt a process to ensure they have the right behaviours and are ready to foster a high performance collaboration. Workshops focussed on building real bottom line solutions together, allows the joint venture to grow as a team as well as ensuring they are well positioned to deliver better outcomes for customers and shareholders.
